SC State's Hamilton Signs With Cowboys

Former Bulldog defensive back Jakar Hamilton works out for scouts during Pro Day held previously March 27, at Dawson Stadium.
ORANGEBURG, SC—Senior South Carolina State defensive back and top NFL prospect for the Bulldogs, Jakar Hamilton signed a free agent contract Saturday with the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL).
         Hamilton (6-1, 200), a Johnston, SC native finished his senior season with SC State after transferring from the University of Georgia.  He caught the eyes of numerous NFL scouts this past season and was invited to participate in several All-Star Bowls, including the 2013 NFLPA (NFL Players Association) Collegiate Bowl held at California State University which is offered to talented draft-eligible seniors across the country.
          He closed out his career with the Bulldogs (SC State) playing in eight games  finishing with 40 tackles, 2 TFL, 3 BRUP and seven kickoff returns for 218 yards (31.3) and one touchdown (96 yards).
