Cowboys Sign Former SC State Safety

The Cowboys have added former South Carolina State defensive back and rookie safety Jakar Hamilton from their practice squad to the roster, the team announced.

The move bolsters the Cowboys' safety depth. Starting strong safety J.J. Wilcox (knee) will be out with an injury.

Hamilton, 24, the Johnston, SC native played his senior season with SC State. He played in 8 contests for the Bulldogs where he finished with 40 tackles (26 solo), 2 TFL and 3 PBU.

The Cowboys waived him on August 31, and then re-signed him the practice squad the next day.
