SC State, Bethune-Cookman battle for top spot in league.

ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State head coach Oliver "Buddy" Pough talks about the bye week and preparing for defending Mid-Eastern Athletic (MEAC) Champion nationally-ranked #14 Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (6-1 overall, 3-0 MEAC) this Saturday in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Bulldogs are currently tied for first place in the league at 3-0 in the MEAC and 5-2 overall, with the Wildcats. The winner of this game will be in the driver's seat for the league crown with less than five games remaining in the regular season.

South Carolina State claimed the third spot in the SBN (Sheridan Broadcasting Network Poll in Week Eight, and the Heritage Sports Radio Network Black College Football FCS Poll.
