ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State conducted its second spring football scrimmage Thursday and head coach Buddy Pough was not exactly thrilled at his team's performance in the almost 90-play workout, which was delayed due to a storm that passed through the area.
Pough noted that the Bulldog defense rebounded from a sub-par performance in the team's first scrimmage, one week ago Thursday, however, he said his offense did not perform nearly as well as in the first outing.
“I thought the defense was all over the offense,” Pough said. “But, you know, I'm not so sure that our defense was that outstanding or that our offense just didn't execute well at all. We looked pretty bad on offense at times. But, we know what we have to do to straighten things out,” he continued.
SC State will conduct practice number 11 on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. The drill will be in shells – shorts, helmets and shoulder pads.
