SC State Preseason Football Report

Bulldogs Get in Full Practice after Short Storm Delay

ORANGEBURG, SC – Despite a short delay due to a fierce storm that passed through the area, SC State got in a full practice Tuesday evening. It was the second workout in full pads for the Bulldogs, who concentrated on a lot a team-style activity and continued installing the schemes the team will employ in the fall, according to head coach Buddy Pough.
SC State also devoted some time to several phases of the kicking game – kickoffs, kickoff returns and point after touchdowns.
“It (the weather) looked awfully dismal shortly before we were scheduled to go out,” said Pough. “It (the rain) really came down hard and the storm was pretty intense. But, lucky for us, it let up and we were able to get in our full practice. We had already missed a practice on last Friday due to the weather and didn't need to miss another one.
“I thought we look pretty good,” continued Pough. “But, we still have a ton of work we need to get done and we have only a short time to get it done.”
SC State will conduct its second two-a-day session on Wednesday with a 9 a.m. practice in shorts and a 7 p.m. workout in shells.
