ATLANTA, GA— The defending MEAC Champion South Carolina State Bulldogs will open season play Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium against ACC Champion Georgia Tech in a 1 p.m. showdown.
This will mark the fourth straight year SC State will have played against a major Division I
Opponent. The Bulldogs finished 10-2 overall last year and completed their second straight undefeated Mid-Eastern Athletic slate at 8-0, while making back-to-back appearances in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
SETTING THE STAGE: South Carolina State is set to begin its 103rd season of intercollegiate football, dating back to 1907, and the 2010 season on Saturday, against defending ACC Champion the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech. This will mark the fourth straight year
SC State will have played against a major Division I opponent.
