VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., South Carolina State senior defensive back Phillip Adams was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Adams (DB, 6-1, 190, Sr., Rock Hill, SC) tallied eight solo tackles with one for a loss of four yards. He also returned a 36-yard interception return for a touchdown in the Bulldogs win over Delaware State. Adams added three broken up passes and spearheaded the Bulldogs defense that limited the Hornets to 87-yards rushing.
Also, earning honors for the second week in a row Florida A&M’s Curtis Pulley was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, while Kory Kowalski of Bethune-Cookman earned Rookie of the Week honors and Kendall Noble of Norfolk State earned Offensive Lineman of the Week accolades. Trevor Scott of Florida A&M was selected as the Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively.
Other Bulldog Top Performances
Josh Harrison (SCSU) anchored the Bulldogs blocking efforts that accounted for 513 yards total offense. He also recorded three pancake blocks and two touchdown creating blocks for S.C. State.
Malcolm Long (SCSU) completed 16-of-24 passes for 316 yards with two touchdowns and carried the ball six times for 21 yards with a rushing touchdown in the Bulldogs 52-10 win over Delaware State.
