Lettered four years in both baseball and football at SC State during his career…Most notable achievements came in baseball as a catcher and first baseman…Played in every game during his final two seasons…Was a co-captain on the 1959 baseball team and led the team in batting in 1960 with a .368 average…Earned All-SIAC honors twice in baseball…Was selected by the New York Mets and spent a short while in their farm camp before being drafted by the US Army where he continued to play baseball in the European Baseball League, helping his squad to the European World Series in 1962 and 1963…Coached football, track and baseball in Bethpage, NY for 31 seasons…Garnered several Coach of the Year honors…Spent last professional years as baseball coach at Bluffton High School.
