Burris Adds Six To Women’s Soccer Signee Class

ORANGEBURG, SC---South Carolina State head women's coach Sandy Burris announced the signing of six to National Letters of Intent (NLI) to the Lady Bulldog roster for the upcoming 2018 season.

"I am extremely excited about the players we have signed so far. This incoming class has the potential to elevate our program to the next level," said Burris. "I feel the experience of our transfers added with the Freshman ECNL and DA players makes this a well-rounded class"

Burris stated, "I would like to express my gratitude to the players and their parents for choosing to be a part of this extraordinary Bulldog family."

Leading this year's class of signees are Madline Rozanski of Woods, Michigan; Tamika Chenyl Aguilar of Henderson, NV; Shi'anne Lashae Swift of Spring Valley, California; Jordan Marie Crawford of Atlanta, Georgia Aislyn Nicole Shoffner of Burlington, North Carolina and a transfer from Virginia Military Institute's (VMI) Carissa Reese from Haymarket, Virginia.
 
MADELINE ELISE ROZANSKI:  A four-year starter for Shrine Catholic High School where she led her team in goals as a junior and earned All-State Honorable Mention, All-District, All-Region and All-Catholic honors. In 2016 she was 3rd Team All-State, All-District, All-Region and All-Catholic. In 2012-2016 her team took the title as Catholic League Champions and she played club for Varder ECNL and AC Milan, and was named 2012 Super Y Player of the Year. She earned a Community Service Award and academic Honor Roll accolades and was part of Schoolcraft College Women's soccer team in Livonia, Michigan both her freshman and sophomore years. Played and started as center back in all of the 20 season games, while her team was undefeated and named the 2016 and 2017 Region 12 Champions. The team went on to compete in 2016 and 2017 to the National Championship Tournament in Melbourne, Florida.  Rozanski was also a nominee for the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society.
 
TAMIKA CHENYL AGUILAR: Attended prep school at Coronado High School where she was named top goal scorer two years in a row and was awarded the Coaches award and MVP award. She was a member of LVSA, Players SC 97' Elite and Legends FC club teams. She was named team captain of club team. Battled an ACL and Meniscus injury her junior year of high school, but overcame it to collegiate soccer at Cochise College where she started every game as freshman and sophomore. Earned honors as team captain and was as selected as MVP her freshman year Selected to play with the US Virgin Islands Women's National Team and is looking to appear in the upcoming Women's World Cup Qualifiers.
 
SHI'ANNE LASHAE SWIFT: A four-year letter winner on the varsity soccer team at Olympian High School, where she served as team captain for one year at the defender position. She was the leading goal scorer and MVP as a sophomore and junior and scored most goals in the Mesa League received first team All-League honors all three years and is a member of Black Student Union, the Peer Mediation program and participated in ODP invitation. Swift plays club soccer for the Albion DA in San Diego.

JORDAN MARIE CRAWFORD: A captain of her varsity school soccer team at Greater Atlanta Christian School and a member of the National Beta Club since her sophomore year. A loyal volunteer spends every summer since 6th grade volunteering at the Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Chamblee United Methodist Church. Jordan plays Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) now the Athena league coached by Dominick Martelli. She led the team in scoring in the Athena league A U-19 bracket for club team her junior year.

AISLYN NICOLE SHOFFNER: Played her prep career at Northeast Guilford High School in McLeansville, NC where she was a four-year starter on the women's varsity soccer team. Shoffner was named Rookie of the Year as a freshman and voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) by her team during the 2017 season. An All-Academic and All-Conference goalkeeper she holds third (3rd) place for saves per game and saves per season for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) Women's Soccer Records books. She is also a member of several professional organizations including The National Honor Society, The National Technical Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Leadership Development.

CARISSA REESE: A transfer from Virginia Military Institute's women soccer program. Played in the first two games but missed the remainder of the year due to a knee injury. Played soccer for Virginia Soccer Association (VSA) Heat and USA Courage programs. In high school Carissa was a four-year letter winner for Battlefield Field Hockey, where she was a two-time First Team All-Conference goalie and during her senior campaign Reese was named Conference Player of the Year.
