ORANGEBURG, SC – Both South Carolina State cross country teams finished in fourth place at the Coastal Carolina Invitational conducted Friday at The Hackler Course in Conway. The host Chanticleers finished first in both the men's and women's division, with 27 and 16 points, respectively.

SC State junior Marketa Marcanikova was the top finisher for SC State in the women's competition for a second straight week as she covered the 5K course in 19:32.46 to finish fifth overall.  In the team competition, the Lady Bulldogs had 98 points.

Like Marcanikova, SC State senior Michael Stackhouse was the top finisher for the Bulldogs for the second consecutive outing as he completed the 5K course in 18:03.05. In the men's team competition, SC State had 111 points.
