EDMONTON, CANADA—South Carolina State freshman sprinter Demek Kemp will participate in the Pan American Junior Track & Field Championships as a member of the USA Junior 4x100 meter relay team Sunday (Aug.2) at the Foot Field Sports Complex Stadium in Edmonton, Canada.
The Semifinals of the 4x100 was cancelled, but the finals will begin at 6:15 p.m. Mountain Time (8:15 p.m. Eastern Time).

Kemp will run the third leg of the finals of the 4x100 Relay alongside teammates 1) Noah Lyles (T C Williams HS), 2) Leon Powell (UCLA) and 4) Cravon Gillespie (Mt. San Antonio College) of the United States. Other teams competing are Trinidad & Tobago, Bahamas, Jamaica, Colombia and Canada.
Kemp had a stellar rookie season earning All-MEAC honors in the 100 meters, 4x100 Relay and long jump. He qualified for the Pan American Championships after finishing 4th at the USATF Junior Track & Field Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon in June.
