ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State men's basketball junior center DouDou Gueye was awarded the Hercules Scholarship by the Tom Joyner Foundation.

Gueye (6-11, 245)  a native of Dakar, the capital and largest city in Senegal (Africa), is a Business major with a 4.0 GPA  and was the third student-athlete to be honored by the Tom Joyner Foundation in the month of April.

As this week's Tom Joyner Foundation Hercules Scholar selected by South Carolina State University, Doudou has earned a $1500 scholarship in honor of Tom Joyner's father, the late Hercules Joyner.

After graduation, Gueye hopes on playing professional basketball and opening a school in Africa to help kids have the opportunity to achieve their dream of coming to America.

Doudou believes that you must have a strong work ethic because "Nothing positive gets accomplished without it!"
