Barry Bethea's 2014 outdoor season came to an end yesterday after he finished fifth in his heat and 17
th overall in the quarterfinal round of the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 51.58 at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary at the University of North Florida.
Rilwan Alowonle of North Carolina posted the fastest overall time in the event, finishing in 50.11. The finishers with the 12 fastest times advanced to the semifinal round that will take place at the Division I National Championships in Eugene, Ore. from June 11-14.
