Day 1 Results

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After the first day of competition, the South Carolina State women's track and field team is currently in seventh place with nine points after scoring in two events at the 2014 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  
 
Freshman Marketa Marcanikova finished fourth in the 5000 meters with a time of 18 minutes, 26.68 seconds. Freshman Victoria Merriweather earned the Lady Bulldogs five points in the discus with a throw of 44.43 meters (145-9).
 
Senior Antavia Owens made it to the finals of the 200 meters with a qualifying time of 24.25.
 
Friday's events start at 9 a.m. with the conclusion of the heptathlon. Sophomore Aasima Walker is representing SCSU in the heptathlon.
