GAINSVILLE, Fla—The eight-ranked Florida Gators advanced to the second round with an convincing 4-0 win against South Carolina State in the first round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships held at Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.

Florida took an early lead winning the doubles point  at the No. 2 spot #27 Sofie Oyen/ Belinda Woolcock, UF def. Victoriia Khatcei/Marketa Marcanikova, SCSU, 8-3  and  at the No. 3 spot Brianna Morgan/Stefani Stojic, UF def. Dakota Brown/Oleksandra Filippova, SCSU, 8-3.
 
In singles action, it was #70 Sofie Oyen, UF def. Klara Dohanlova, SCSU, 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 2 position; #67 Kourtney Keegan, UF def. Dakota Brown, SCSU, 6-1, 6-1 at the No.5 position and Stefani Stojic, UF def. Marketa Marcanikova, SCSU, 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 6 position.
 The Lady Bulldogs close out the season with a 13-8 overall record.
