CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The seventh-ranked North Carolina men's tennis team cruised past South Carolina State 4-0 on Saturday at Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center to advance to the second round of the NCAA Men's Tennis Championships.
The Tar Heels (25-5) overcame the tough play of the MEAC-champion Bulldogs (13-8) in doubles before dominating singles competition to seal the match.
In singles action, # 33 Ronnie Schneider, picked up the Tar Heels' first singles win with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over South Carolina State's Jiri Stuburek on court two. On court four Oysterin Sterio def.
