Waters Lady Bulldogs in Coastal Carolina Invitational

Sr., Sarai Waters finished 7th in the Coastal Carolina Invitational

Conway, S.C.—Junior Sarai Waters improved on her season best time by just under a minute as she was SC State's top finisher at the Coastal Carolina Invitational. Waters, who ran a 20:37.96 in the opening meet of the season, clocked a 19:38.70 at the invitational which was contested on Friday (Sept. 13) and hosted by Coastal Carolina University.

The SC State women's team, who finished fourth amongst Division I teams, saw all of its participants improve on their time from two weeks ago. The Lady Bulldogs second finisher, senior Tamara Smith placed 18th in a time of 21:43.51. Senior Tamoya Morrison rounded out the top three for SC State, finishing 21st in a time of 22:25.83. Freshman Jacoy Hutto ran a 23:19.27, junior Breonna Green ran 24:27.98 and freshman Aubree Smith ran 24:47.69 to round out SC State's participants.

The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Rock Hill, S.C. next Saturday (Sept. 21) to participate in the Winthrop Invitational.
