SC State Hit The Road To Take On Jacksonville In Men's Basketball Action

Senior forward Matthew Hezekiah returns home to lead SC State against Jacksonville University on Monday. Tip-off is 7 p.m.
JACKSONVILLE, FLA—The South Carolina State men's basketball team will be on the road Monday, to take on Jacksonville University in a non-conference matchup at Veterans Memorial Arena. Tip-off is 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs (3-7) will be seeking their second straight win after knocking off a talented Coastal Carolina team, 83-78, on last week at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Senior guard Adama "Louis" Adams led the way with a team-high 18 points, while sophomore forward Daryll Palmer grabbed nine rebounds in the win.

Jacksonville native, All-MEAC senior forward Matthew Hezekiah lead the Bulldogs in scoring with 12.5 ppg and 5.0 rebounds. Adams is second with 9.7 points, while Palmer chips 8.2 and a team-high 6.9 boards per outing.

Sophomore guard Jordan Smith a transfer from Brevard Community College and native of Orlando, Fla, gives Coach Murray Garvin's team an outside shooting threat with .33% from behind the arch along with tossing in 7.7 points per game.

Jacksonville (3-7) and South Carolina State will meet for the second consecutive year and sixth time overall. Jacksonville holds a 4-1 lead in the series, but the Bulldogs surprised the Dolphins last season in Orangeburg, S.C., pulling off a 74-72 victory with a Hezekiah tip-in providing the difference in the final seconds.

The game will be available to stream live on ASun.TV or you can catch it on the radio dial at 92.5 FM. Clink link: http://www.judolphins.com/media/livestats/mbasketball/xlive.htm
