Daytona Beach, FL – The SC State women carded an identical 18-hole total 330 on Wednesday, matching their Tuesday posting for a 36-hole total of 660 and a second-place finish at the two-day Gary Freeman B-CU Spring Golf Invitational at the par-72 LPGA International Legends Course.
Host Bethune-Cookman, the first-day leader, maintained its position in winning the event with a 36-hole total of (318-315) 633. Rounding out the top five in the team standings were Florida Atlantic (336-335) at 671, Central Connecticut at (336-340) at 676 and Hampton at (331-346) 677.
Sophomore
Tiana Jones and freshman Cheryl Chua each had a 36-hole total of 158 to lead Coach Sandy Burris' SC State squad. Jones, who was just two strokes off the first-day lead with a 4-over par 76, shot an 82 on Wednesday for her total. Chua, who had an opening round 79, carded an identical score Wednesday for the final 18 holes.
Also participating for the Lady Bulldogs were Carmen Jones, who finished the two-day event with a (86-83) 169,
Cabriel Duren, who finished at (93-86) 179 and Cherie Chua, who had a (89-96) 185 total.
The women's field included nine teams. Individuals from Benedict and Edward Waters also participated.
