ORANGEBURG, SC – The funeral for Mrs. Gracia Watterman Dawson, widow of the late Oliver C. Dawson, who spent 41 years as a coach and administrator at SC State University, will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Presbyterian Church, 324 Mingo Street. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

On Tuesday, the family will receive friends and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will conduct a public memorial service – Ivies Beyond the Wall – from 6-8 p.m. at Simmons Funeral Home, 907 Russell Street.

Mrs. Dawson, who was the oldest living “Miss SC State University,” died Friday at The Regional Medical Center at the age of 95.
