ORANGEBURG, SC -- The SC State soccer team was unable to get untracked Monday evening and dropped a 4-0 decision to visiting Campbell at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
The Lady Bulldogs had their record leveled at 2-2-1 with the loss, while Campbell improved to 3-2-1 following the victory.
The Camels got two goals from Annabelle Gibney and one each from Cissy Nitz and Olga Ekblom in the victory. Nitz's goal on a corner kick at the 29.23 mark of the first half put the visitors ahead 1-0, a lead they took to the locker room. Gibney got back-to-back goals midway the second half for a 3-0 Campbell lead and Ekblom closed out the scoring with the game's final goal with 36:45 left.
Freshman Briana Lopez and senior Brook Ehinger had five and four shots, respectively, for Coach Glad Bugariu's team, which was shutout for the first time this season.
The SC State women resume their schedule Friday when they host Lipscomb in the first round of the two-day Sleep Inn Bulldog Classic at 7:30 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs will face Alabama State on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the event.
