Farmville, VA--The SC State women's soccer team dropped a non-conference match up to Longwood, 1-3.
SC State (1-1-1) got on the board early off an Olivia Moore goal (assisted by Briana Lopez) at the 9:35 mark. Defensively, the Lady Bulldogs had to play a man down for majority of the game as the goal keeper was dismissed from the game inside the 12th minute.
"I felt we started very positively, but when the goalkeeper got sent off the game changed," said third year head coach Glad Bugariu. "We were dominant, but playing with ten men for so long was difficult against a good team."
Longwood took advantage of the extra man as they put two goals in the first half (12:42 and 16:34) and one in the second half (51:41) en route to their 3-1 victory.
SC State will try to get back in the win column, next Friday, Sept. 3 when they travel to Buena Vista, Va. to take on Southern Virginia in a non-conference match up.
