GREENSBORO, NC –The South Carolina State men are in third place and the women fourth after the second day of competition at the 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship after the second day of competition at the Irwin Belk Track on the North Carolina A&T campus.
The SC State men, with a first-place finish by Levar Knight in the long jump, have amassed 28 points, while the women, bolstered by Shamire Rothmiller's first in the javelin and second in the shot, also have 28 points.
Defending champion Norfolk State leads the men's competition with 51.5 points, while the Norfolk State women are also first with 67 points.
Rothmiller had a throw of 136-06 ft. to win the javelin and had a toss of 47-11.75 in placing second in the javelin. Knight had a leap of 24-11.75 ft. in taking first in the long jump.
The competition concludes Saturday.
