ORANGEBURG, SC – Ohio Girls Division I golf state champion Tiana Jones has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for South Carolina State beginning with the 2010 fall season. Jones, an Alliance (OH) High School senior, was the Player of the Year in her division and earned All-County honors this past season.

She shot a 2-over 73 on Oct. 24 at the Ohio State University Gray Course to beat out 72 other girls and garner state champion honors.

Her addition to the SC State team is expected to bolster a squad that made strides the past season.

“Tiana is an outstanding player,” said SC State golf coach Sandra Burris. “This is by far the top signee ever in our program. Her addition to the team will make us contenders in most of the tournaments we will compete in.”
