SC State Women’s Soccer Adds Four to the 2010 Recruiting Class

Head Coach Glad Bugariu
Orangeburg, SC--South Carolina State head women's soccer coach Glad Bugariu, announced the addition of four players to the 2010 recruiting class. Earlier this fall, the Lady Bulldogs coach announced the signing of three players to a National Letter of Intent. Signing a National Letter of Intent this spring are Rebecca Dale, Briana Lopez, Gabby Norby, and Tori Papp.
Dale, a 5-5 midfielder from Karlskrona, Sweden (Ehrensvärdska Gymnasium), competed in club soccer as a member of the Rödeby AIF club team.
Lopez, a 5-7 forward, hails from Santa Barbara High School in Santa Barbara, Ca. She was a member of the All-Region, All-Conference and All-State team. Lopez, who played her club ball for the Santa Barbara Soccer Club, is a teammate of Kaitlynn Penner who signed with the Lady Bulldogs in November.
Norby, a 5-3 midfielder, comes to the Lady Bulldogs from Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, CA where she was a 2009 All-Conference team member.
Papp, a 5-2 midfielder, hails from Chandler, AZ where she was a 2008 High School MVP and 2009 All-County at Corona Del Sol High School. She played her club ball with the Sereno Soccer Club.
Bugariu outlines what each of these young ladies bring to the Lady Bulldog program.
“Dale, he says, is an extremely hard working midfielder who should add another dimension to the team. She is very mature and is expected to make an immediate impact.”
“Lopez is a complete player and will be a real asset to the team in the years to come,” Bugariu continued. “We are expecting some top performances from her and are very fortunate to have signed a player of this quality.”
“Norby is a player who is versatile and should compete for playing time at several positions,” says Bugariu.
He added that “Papp is a player who caught our eye late in the recruiting cycle but has the abilities that will allow her to compete for playing time right away.” “She is an excellent student as well as an excellent player.
