VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., April 1, 2010 – South Carolina State sophomore Shamire Rothmiller and Bethune-Cookman sophomore Kenson Nicholas were named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday.

Rothmiller (So., Glassboro, N.J.) finished second in the shot put with a 14.69m throw and third in thejavelin with a 37.34m toss at the Weems Baskin Invite, hosted by South Carolina State.

Nicholas (So., Gros Islet, St. Lucia) won the long jump (6.55m) and triple jump (13.33m) and aided the Wildcats to a sixth place finish in the 4x100m relay (45.15) at the UCF Invitational.
