CHARLESTON— Freshman guard Tyvon Williams tossed in 17 points, while senior's Jason Flagler and Arsenio Williams chipped in 12 each, but it wasn't enough SC State dropped its third game in 88-73 to The College of Charleston Saturday.
The Bulldogs fell behind early in the first-half with the Cougars jumping ahead by 22, 36-14 on a jumper by Andrew Goudelock at the 7:47 mark. College of Charleston led 49-29 at half-time.
Andrew Goudelock and Cassan Breeden led all scorers in the first-half with 13 each. SC State committed 12 turnovers which led to a 15-3 scoring advantage for CofC.
A Matt Sundberg jumper gave the Cougars a 35 point lead, 83-48 with 6:20 left in the game.
College of Charleston cruised to an 88-73 victory over South Carolina State. The Bulldogs fall to 6-5 on the season, while the Cougars improved to 7-6.
SC State opens up MEAC play Saturday when they travel to Dover, DE to take on Delaware State in a 4 p.m. showdown
