SCSU Tennis Teams Set To Open MEAC Tourney Play

RALEIGH, NC- The top-seeded South Carolina State men's and women's tennis teams will open up first-round play in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament Friday beginning at  8:30 a.m. at the Millbrook Tennis Court in Raleigh, NC.

Both the men's and women's are coached by 2008 MEAC Women's Coach of the Year Hardeep Judge who is in his ninth season at the helm for SC State.

The Lady Bulldogs, reigning MEAC champion claimed their fourth consecutive number one seed and posted an unblemished mark in conference play at 4-0. While the men's, winners of four of the last five MEAC tennis titles earned the number one seed with a 3-0 mark in southern divisional play.

The conference will hold its annual Banquet this evening beginning at 5 p.m. at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree.  

The championships will conclude on Sunday, April 19 beginning at 9 a.m. with the women's championship final. The men's championship final will follow at 11:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
