Soccer Team Travels to Howard
Looking to Avenge an earlier 2-0 Loss to the Lady Bison

ORANGEBURG, SC – The South Carolina State soccer team hopes to avenge one of its six losses Friday when the Lady Bulldogs take on Howard in a 7 p.m. Great West Conference (GWC) soccer match at Washington, DC.

            Coach Glad Bugariu’s team is 9-6-2 overall and 2-2 and in third place in the GWC East Division behind NJIT (7-6-1, 4-1) and Howard (4-8-2, 3-1). In an earlier match against Howard at Orangeburg, the Lady Bulldogs lost 2-0.

Bugariu’s team, which is bidding for the school’s first-ever winning season, is coming off a 3-0 victory over Montreat (NC) College on Monday.

ORANGEBURG, SC – The South Carolina State soccer team, in its second spring exhibition Saturday, faced teams from the powerful Southeastern and Atlantic Coast conferences at Columbia. The Lady Bulldogs were very competitive in both matches, losing 2-0 to the ACC’s North Carolina State and 3-0 to South Carolina State of the SEC, which finished its fall schedule ranked eighth nationally.

Naperville, Ill—South Carolina State soccer players Janine Francois and Talitha Wood have been named to the Great West Conference (GWC) 2009 Fall Academic All-Conference Team as announced by the league recently.
 
Francois a 5-2 senior forward/mid-fielder (Trinidad/Couva Government Secondarie) is a business management major with a cumulative grade point average of 3.351; while Wood, also 5-2 and a redshirt senior mid-fielder (Nassau, Bahamas/Binghamton University), is a biology major with a cumulative grade point average of 3.219.

Orangeburg, SC--South Carolina State head women’s soccer coach Glad Bugariu, announced the addition of three players for the 2010 season. Signing a National Letter of Intent to attend SC State in the fall are Kaitlynn Cortez and Kaitlynn Penner. Transfer Olivia Moore will also be joining the 2010 edition of the Lady Bulldogs.
