TALLAHASSEE, FLA.—The South Carolina State women's bowling team competed in their final regular season competition this past weekend (January 10-11) in Tallahassee, Fla.
The Lady Bulldogs finished strong winning 7 of 10 matches. The first round of competition was the single format team event, and despite a strong start by Mirisa Hicks who score a team high 214 for the first match, SC State fell short against North Carolina A &T 901-834.
South Carolina State would then power back to win three straight matches with Autumn Glencamp scoring a 245 in match two to help the lady bulldogs to defeat Winston-Salem State 827-819. In the third match Darcie Evans bowled a 227 and Glencamp scored a 223 as the Bulldogs defeated Florida A&M 916 to 840.
Glencamp continued her hot streak scoring a 266 against Bethune-Cookman and a 216 against Norfolk State to give SC State a 953-797 victory over Bethune-Cookman, but would eventually fall short to Norfolk State 996-884.
At the end of the first-round competition SC State's Glencamp posted a 266 game-high, a 1, 134 high series and an average 226.
In day two the Bakers format best-of-seven matches, SC State won four of their five matches, defeating Florida A&M (4-3), Winston-Salem (4-1), Bethune-Cookman (4-2) and Norfolk St 4-1.
N.C. State gave the SC State its only loss of the day 4-2. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Stephanie Sinclair, Brittani Haynes, and Teriny Bailey.
