ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State women’s cross-country runner Brittney Stewart has been named Cross-Country Female Athlete of the Week by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Stewart led the Lady Bulldogs to a third place finish at the Citadel Invitational last Saturday. A 5-5 freshman from Warner Robins, GA (Warner Robins HS) finished in ninth place (out of 43 competitors) completing the 5K course with a time of 19:51.73

SC State Cross Country Teams Open 2010 Campaign Friday

ORANGEBURG, SC – The SC State men’s and women’s cross country teams open the 2010 campaign Friday (Sept. 3) at the USC-hosted Gamecock Invitational at Hilton Field at Fort Jackson. The 5K competition gets underway at 6 p.m.

Harris Named Assistant Cross-Country/Track and Field Coach
Orangeburg, SC—Jebreh Harris has been named assistant cross-country/track and field coach at South Carolina State. Harris began his duties on February 1.
            Harris joins the SC State staff after serving the past season five seasons (2004-2009) as a volunteer-assistant coach at his alma mater University of Tennessee-Knoxville (UT). While at UT, Harris also served several years as a track coach with the Knoxville Track Club working with the youth program. He also has spent time as a sports specific/personal trainer (Performance Training Inc.) Where he has trained several world class athletes and designed workout for clients with particular needs.

Stewart Earns All-MEAC Cross Country Honor

PRINCESS ANNE, MD – South Carolina State sophomore Brittney Stewart, by virtue of a Top 15 Finish at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship Saturday (Oct. 31) at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, has earned a spot on the league’s All-MEAC Cross Country Team.
