Orangeburg, SC – The South Carolina State University women’s softball team will open its 2010 season this weekend at the 3rd Annual Tiny Laster’s Fastpitch Softball Tournament.
            The tournament, which is scheduled for Friday – Sunday, Feb. 12-14 in Atlanta, GA, will feature eight teams from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), and five teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). In addition to South Carolina State participants from the MEAC include Morgan State, Hampton University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Norfolk State, Florida A&M, Winston Salem State and North Carolina A&T. The teams representing the SWAC are Grambling State University, Tennessee State University, Mississippi Valley State University, Alabama A&M University, and Alcorn State University.

Tallahassee, FL(May 2-3)—Florida A&M University (FAMU) swept SC State in the final Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Series of the 2009 Series. The three game series was contested at the Lady Rattler’s Softball Complex in Tallahassee, FL.

Orangeburg, SC— The SC State softball team will close out its 2009 season this Saturday-Sunday, May 2-3, when the Lady Bulldogs  travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to take on Florida A&M University (FAMU) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) three-game series.
 
The series, which will be contested at the Lady Rattlers Softball Complex on the campus of FAMU, will begin with a double-header on Saturday at 1 p.m. and conclude with a single game on Sunday at 12 noon.

Cary, NC—SC State softball team split a non-conference softball double-header with North Carolina Central University (NCCU), 8-0 and 1-5. The match-up was contested at the Thomas Brooks Athletic Park in Cary, NC.
 
SC State dominated Game One as they scored in all but two innings. The Lady Bulldogs scored one run in the first, two in the second, one in the third, two in the fifth and two in the seventh inning.

Orangeburg, SC--Winston-Salem State University swept SC State University in a softball double-header, 6-1 and 4-2, at the Lady Bulldog Softball Field on the campus of SC State University.
 
The Lady Rams (12-23) scored all six of their runs of the first game in the top of the second inning while allowing just one run from the Lady Bulldogs (6-25) in the bottom half of the inning. Neither team would score another run thus giving Winston-Salem State the 6-1 victory.

Orangeburg, SC—Senior Emerald Freeman was five-of-five, including her first homerun of the season, as SC State defeated Savannah State, 8-0 and 9-1, in a non-conference double-header at the Lady Bulldog Field on the campus of SC State.
            Game One was a defensive game through the first three innings. SC State (5-22) bats came to life in the bottom of the fourth when they scored five runs off five hits and one error.

Orangeburg, SC— The SC State versus Campbell University softball double-header scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, Apr. 14 has been changed to Wednesday, Apr. 15 due to the strong possibility of inclement weather.
 
The non-conference double-header, which was slated for a 2 p.m. start on tomorrow, will played at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Norfolk, VA – The SC State softball team dropped the final game of a three-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) series to Norfolk State, 11-0. The series was contested at the Spartan Softball Field on the campus of Norfolk State.
 
Despite committing just one error in the game, the Lady Bulldogs, (3-22 overall, 0-9 MEAC), could not control the offensive attack of the Spartans.

Norfolk, VA – The SC State women’s softball team dropped a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) double-header to Norfolk State University, 0-7, 1-9, at the Lady Spartan Field on the campus of Norfolk State University.
SC State, (3-21 overall, 0-8 MEAC), began Game One with a lot of offense as the first four batters successfully reached base via hits. Despite having bases loaded in its half of the inning, the Lady Bulldogs could not capitalize, ending the inning with no runs while leaving three players stranded.
