Hello Fellow Bulldogs:
Now that we have closed out the 2007-08 athletic season and are rapidly approaching the 2008-09 season, let me take this opportunity to once again thank you for your support of SC State Athletics.
This year’s football season will soon be upon us and we would like to see each and every one of you in the stands cheering on the Bulldogs. Last month we kicked off the season ticket campaign. We are striving to get 5,000 season tickets sold before the home-opener on September 6 when we host Benedict. This will be the first time in four years that we have faced Benedict in Orangeburg and we need your support at this and all home games.
This years schedule includes ACC powerhouse Clemson University in Death Valley (Clemson, SC) and national powerhouse UCF in Orlando, Florida. The 2008 football theme is: Bulldog Football: “It’s More Than A Game” and we will definitely have many activities throughout this season that will portray that theme. Homecoming 2008 will be October 11 versus Norfolk State University while the rest of the home schedule will include Hampton University on October 25 and a nationally televised game versus Howard University on Thursday, Nov 6. More details on the time and station are forthcoming. We will once again play one of home games in Charleston, SC. On September 13 the Bulldogs will face the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman University in the LowCountry Classic at the Citadel Stadium.
The 2008 Football season as well as all of the Bulldogs sports will be exciting and we are truly looking forward to the positive things to come in 2008-09.
