The major functions of the SC State equipment room staff are purchasing and storing all athletic equipment used by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The equipment room staff is also responsible for the distribution and collection of equipment in cooperation and consultation with each individual head coaches.
 
The equipment room staff on occasion assists coaches with game and practice needs.
 
Contained below is information relevant to the ordering and distributing of SC State team equipment which include downloadable size charts for various sports. Also included is a downloadable application for any current or future student interested in becoming a student manager.

Two District 5 Employees Among SC State HOF Inductees

ORANGEBURG, SC – Two Orangeburg Consolidated School District 5 employees are among 10 individuals scheduled for induction into the SC State University Athletic Hall of Fame Sept.  10.

SAVE THE DATE (FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2010: SC STATE ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME INDUCTION)
ORANGEBURG, SC— South Carolina State will induct ten (10) new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. The ceremony, which is open to the public, will be held at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center on the campus of SC State. Donations for the induction ceremony are $50 per adult, $35 for children 15 and under and $450 for a table of 10.

SC State, MEAC Schools Discuss Proposed Legacy Bowl

ORANGEBURG, SC -- SC State University confirmed Monday that it has joined other Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) schools in discussions concerning the proposed 2011 Legacy Bowl that would match the champion from the league against the champion from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).

SC State Announces 2010 Hall of Fame Class

ORANGEBURG, SC  – South Carolina State will induct ten (10) new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. The university will also honor the 1988-89 men’s basketball championship team and the 1990-91 women’s volleyball championship squad. The inductees and teams will also be presented at halftime of the Mississippi Valley State - S.C. State football game the following day, Saturday, Sept. 11.

AMIKids Return to SC State for Summer Games

ORANGEBURG, SC -- Almost 250 youths, representing 25 teams from four states have gathered on the South Carolina State campus for the four-day (May 17-20) AMIKids Experiential Challenge Summer Games, which got underway Monday with an opening ceremony and pep rally at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

ORANGEBURG, SC – Student-athletes in sixteen (16) sports at South Carolina State were honored Monday (Apr. 26) for achievement in their respective sports and in academics during the school’s annual Athletics Awards Banquet. In addition to all letter winners being recognized, superlative awards were also handed out.

Former SC State Volleyball Player Erinn N. Phillips Passes Away
SC State University regrets to announce the passing of former SC State volleyball player Erinn N. Phillips. Phillips passed away today in her hometown of Inkster, MI after battling an extended illness. Phillips, 22, was a setter for one season (2007) for the SC State women’s volleyball team.
