SC State Tennis Teams Closes Out Florida Trip With Strong Showing

ORLANDO, Fla—The South Carolina State men's and women's tennis team closed out its Florida trip in dominting fashion wrapping up big wins against Non-Opponent and Division I foes this past weekend.
        The Lady Bulldogs posted a hard fought 3-1 record on last week. SC State competed against a series of teams in the three-day event including wins over Creighton (6-1), Jackson State (4-0), and George Mason (6-1) before suffering a touch 4-3 decision to Gonzaga.
          Senior Maria Craciun at the No.1 position and freshman Klara Dohnalova at the No.3 position led the charge for the Lady Bulldogs finishing with an undefeated mark at 4-0 in singles and doubles play.
           Meanwhile on the men's side the Bulldogs dominated their opponents finishing with a 5-0 mark. The Bulldogs posted wins over Robert Morris (7-0), Jackson State (7-0), Quinnipiac (6-1), Army (5-2) and George Mason (5-2).
            Freshman Jiri Stiburek led the way for SC State finishing 5-0 record in singles play. The Bulldogs are 9-2 overall on the season, while the Lady Bulldogs are 9-4.
