South Carolina State Tennis Teams Picked to Win MEAC Divisional Crowns

Sophomore Victoria Khateci returns to lead the Lady Bulldogs to their 9th straight league title. Khatcei was the 2012 MEAC Rookie of the Year.

NORFOLK, Va., -- The South Carolina State's men's and women's tennis teams were chosen to win the southern divisional men's and women's titles the conference announced, while Morgan State's men's tennis team and Howard's women's tennis team were predicted to win the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) tennis northern divisional crowns titles.

On the men's side, the defending MEAC champion South Carolina State Bulldogs concluded the 2012 season with a 4-0 conference mark and 20-3 overall record en route to their fourth consecutive MEAC crown. The Bulldogs welcome back five letter winners from last year's campaign.

The reigning MEAC women's champion South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs winners of eight straight league titles were selected to capture the 2013 crown in the southern division. The Lady Bulldogs were 6-0 in MEAC play and 19-1 overall last season.

The 2013 MEAC Men and Women's Tennis Championships begins April 19-21 at the Millbrook Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C.
