Bellamy, Elmore Earn All-MEAC Honors

Delaware State’s Elko and Howard’s Pough Earn Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year Awards’ B-CU’s Brian Jenkins Named Coach of the Year

NORFOLK, Va., - – South Carolina State senior wide receiver Lennel Elmore and red-shirt junior offensive lineman Tristan Bellamy earn Second Team All-MEAC honors the conference announced.
 
Delaware State quarterback Nick Elko was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Year and Keith Pough of Howard earned the Defensive Player of the Year honor, as voted on by the MEAC's head football coaches and sports information directors.
 
Howard's Damon Gresham Chisholm earned the Rookie of the Year award and Terrance Hackney of Bethune-Cookman was selected as Offensive Lineman of the Year. 
 
Third-year head coach Brian Jenkins of Bethune-Cookman was named Coach of the Year.  Jenkins led the Wildcats to an unblemished 8-0 MEAC record and 9-2 overall mark.  The Wildcats edged out Florida A&M in the annual Florida Classic to seal its perfect record and the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Division I (FCS) Championships.  The Wildcats are currently ranked No. 22 in both the Sports Network's FCS and the FCS Coaches poll's.
 
Elmore (5-10, 170) the red-shirt senior earned his second All–MEAC honor in his Bulldog career. He caught 24 catches this season for 463 yards and three touchdowns, while averaging 19.3 yards per catch. 
 
Bellamy (6-3, 310) the Johnston, SC native anchored a young and talented offensive line where he rotated from center to guard throughout the season.  The Bulldogs amassed 3,388 total offensive yards with 1,468 on the ground and 1,920 in the air.
