SC State Travels To Dover To Take On Delaware State

DOVER,DE--The South Carolina State Bulldogs (2-4 overall, 1-2 MEAC) will look to turn things around Saturday when they face the Hornets of Delaware State (2-3 overall, 1-1 MEAC) in a pivotal league showdown. Kick-off is set for 1:30 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.

 SETTING THE?SCENE:   This will be the 40th meeting between the two teams in school history dating back to 1971. The last time the Hornets defeated the Bulldogs was back in 2007 ,16-17 in Orangeburg, SC. In their last meeting SC State dominated Delaware State 69-0 (Sept. 24, 2011) in Coach Kermit Blount's first season as head coach. Coach Pough is 8-3 vs. DSU while Coach Kermit Blount is 0-1 vs. SC State while at Delaware State.
     
 THE?COACHES: SC State's Buddy Pough (SC State '75) is in his 11th season as head coach at his alma mater and owns and  84-37 overall record and a 65-18 MEAC. Delaware St.  Kermit Blount (WSSU'80)   is in his second season as Hornet head coach and 19th career season. He holds a 4-11 record at DSU, while recording a 96-98-3 over his career.
