ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State men's basketball head coach Tim Carter has promoted assistant Dwight Evans to associate head coach.
Evans, who is in his second season as a member of the SC State basketball staff, will --among other duties -- coordinate recruiting and academics for the Bulldogs and also be responsible for developing the SC State post players, according to Carter.
A 23-year coaching veteran, Evans came to SC State last year after a one season as an assistant at Florida International. He previously served coaching stints at Central Florida (now UCF), South Alabama and Missouri.
Evans played collegiately at Birmingham-Southern, where he earned a bachelor's in business administration in 1984.
