Hipps and Alston Earn Postseason Honors

Virginia Beach, VA (3-4-10)—Senior Sophilia Hipps and freshman Paris Alston has earned 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference postseason honors, as announced by the conference office last week. Hipps and Alston will be honored prior to the start of the Lady Bulldogs First Round matchup on Tuesday, March 9, 2010.

Hipps, a 5-8 senior guard from Spencer, NC, was named to the 2010 Second Team All-Conference. She is currently tied for first for the Lady Bulldogs in scoring averaging 14.5 points per game and is ranked first on the team and in the MEAC in free-throw shooting at 86 percent. Hipps is also ranked in the top 10 of the conference in scoring, three-pointers made, three-point percentage, assists and steals. For her career she has scored 1,566 points with a 81 percent free-throw shooting average.
 
Paris Alston
Alston, a 6-2, center from Greensboro, NC was named to the 2010 All-Rookie Team. She finished the regular season ranked third in field goal percentage in the conference. She is also ranked in the top 15 in overall rebounding and defensive rebounding. She is currently third in scoring and first in rebounding for the Lady Bulldogs averaging 8.1 and 5.8 respectively.
