ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State was back on the practice field Monday, two days after the Bulldogs conducted their first scrimmage. Monday's workout was the ninth spring drill for Coach Buddy Pough's team, which has six remaining.
In Monday's session, the Bulldogs spent some time going over mistakes from Saturday's scrimmage. The coaching staff also took a look at a lot of players, closely monitoring their performance and what role they will play in the fall.
“We have just six practices left and its time for a lot of our players to step up and show that they can help us this fall,” said Pough. It's an important week, a short week. We will only have two practices this (Monday and Wednesday) before our second scrimmage on Friday. We need for guys to be productive and demonstrate they can be in the mix this fall.
SC State will observe Spring Break next week and when the Bulldogs return, they will have just four practice dates left, which includes the annual Garnet and Blue game Mar. 27th. The time of the game will be announced later.
