ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The University of South Carolina and North Carolina State University highlight a challenging seven-match 2010 spring exhibition schedule for the South Carolina State soccer team. In addition, Coach Glad Bugariu's team has matches against Southern Conference teams Wofford, Furman and Georgia Southern and NCAA Division II power UNC - Pembroke.

The Lady Bulldogs will open the slate Feb. 20 at Wofford in a 1 p.m. contest, followed by an extremely difficult doubleheader on Feb. 25 against the University of South Carolina and North Carolina State at Columbia.

"The Gamecocks finished 9^th-ranked in the nation last year, so we will be matching up with one of the best teams in the country,” said Bugariu. “North Carolina State plays in the most competitive league in the country -- the ACC -- and they have some top players. We want to challenge ourselves against the best competition we can find this spring in the hope that it will prepare us for the 2010 fall season.

"During the spring, we will experiment with different formations and lineups against top quality opposition,” continued Bugariu. “At this stage of the season we are more concerned with performance rather then results, but nevertheless winning is still the top priority in this program.”

SC State, which is coming off a 10-7-3 season, the first winning campaign in the program's 12-year history, will follow the Columbia doubleheader with matches against both Furman and UNC-Charlotte in Greenville, SC on March 27th, before hosting its one and only home spring date Apr. 7th at 7 p.m. against UNC - Pembroke.

The schedule will conclude in Apr. 17 when the Bulldogs travel to Georgia Southern for a 2 p.m. match.
