ORANGEBURG, SC – The South Carolina State soccer team will face, perhaps, the most challenging matches in the history of the program Saturday when the Lady Bulldogs meet 8th ranked South Carolina and ACC power North Carolina State in Columbia.
Coach Glad Bugariu's team will meet the Gamecocks at 1 p.m., and then take on the Wolfpack at 3 p.m.
Bugariu's team, playing a spring schedule for the first time during his three-year tenure, is off to a winning start after earning a 2-0 victory over Wofford at Spartanburg Feb. 20. Transfer Olivia Moore opened the scoring with a goal after 20 minutes, with freshman Stephanie Searle getting the second five minutes later.
The Lady Bulldogs, who will play seven matches this spring, are coming off a 10-7-3 fall showing, which gave the university its first winning campaign in the 11-year history of the soccer program.
