Orangeburg, SC- The South Carolina State Men's and Women's Track Teams will travel to Landover, MD to participate in the 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Championships. The two-day meet, which will be held at the Prince George County Sports and Learning Complex, will take place Friday-Saturday, Feb. 12-13. The championships will feature all 11 institutions from the MEAC Conference.
Both SC State track and field teams have had an impressive indoor season to this point. The Bulldog women will be looking to improve on its eighth place finish in the 2009 MEAC championships while the Bulldog men will be looking to improve on its disappointing 11th place finish in 2009. “I think with the success we've had thus far we could definitely finish in the middle of the pack on both sides,” said third year head coach Tyree Price.
Among the top individual qualifiers for the Bulldogs heading into this weekend's championships are Marcus Stephens, Levar Knight and Christopher Ward on the men side and
Monique Gracia,
Tamala Daley and
Jasmine Smith on the women's side.
