TALLAHASSEE,FL—JUCO transfer Darnell Porter tossed in 19 points, while senior guard Brandon Smalls chipped in 15 as South Carolina State cruised to a 77-62 victory over Florida A&M at the Lawson Center Monday.

South Carolina State improves to 11-8 overall, 5-3 in the MEAC, while Florida A&M falls to 5-16 overall, 2-6 in the league.

South Carolina State returns to action on Saturday when they host the Pirates of Hampton University in an MEAC doubleheader. The women contest tip-off at 4 p.m., followed by the men in at 6 p.m.
