ORANGEBURG, SC – The starting time for the Oct. 3 South Carolina State at the University of South Carolina Football contest has been set for 7 p.m. at Williams-Brice Stadium.
The contest, only the second meeting ever between the two Palmetto State schools, will be televised nationally on ESPN Classic. It will be the second national telecast of the season for Coach Buddy Pough's Bulldogs, who defeated Grambling 34-31 in the Sept. 6 MEAC/SWAC Challenge, which was televised on ESPN2 and ESPN360.com.
In the only other gridiron meeting between the Bulldogs and Gamecocks, USC won 38-3 on Sept. 17, 2007 at Columbia.
The Bulldogs, 2-0 on the season, host Winston-Salem State in their home opener Saturday (Sept. 26) at 6 p.m. at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
SC State faculty and staff and person 55 and older will be admitted to Saturday's contest for $15 with advance purchase of tickets before the close of business Friday, Sept. 25. ID is required to purchase the tickets which will not be available on game day.
