Hill Graduates from NCAA Minority Leadership Institute
7/1/2009 11:20:11 AM
Indianapolis, IN— Mary Hill, Director of Internal Operations/Special Events Coordinator for the Department of Athletics at South Carolina State, was among 22 individuals to graduate from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males and Females, Thursday, June 25, 2008, at the NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis.
The Leadership Institute is designed to teach individuals how to become effect athletic administrators as well as prepare them for upper senior level athletic administration. This year’s participants attended five sessions ranging from four-to-seven days over the course of one academic year.
“I have learned a lot of information that I can incorporate in my day-to-day,” says Hill. “Although it’s a leadership institute it also teaches you how to effectively relay the mission of the athletics department and the mission of the university as a whole.”
