ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State freshman Monique Gracia will be among the nation's collegians competing at the 2009 USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championship set for Hayward Field at the University of Oregon, Eugene, Ore., Jun. 25-28.

            Gracia, a hurdler and sprinter from Miami, Fla., qualified in the 100 meters with a time of 11.82.

            Also participating at the site will be SC State volunteer assistant coach Michael Jackson, who is an unattached entrant in the high jump in USA Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

Jackson, a Bamberg native and St. Augustine's graduate, qualified for the event as well as the US Trials for the World Championship with a jump of 2.18 meters (7-1 ½).
