MEAC Champions Honored By City Of Orangeburg

ORANGEBURG, SC- The South Carolina State University received Orangeburg’s top honor Friday with Mayor Paul Miller presenting the team, with a Proclamation of the City for their achievements on and off the court this season.

 

Community officials and loyal Bulldog supporters packed the K.W. Green Student Center on the campus of South Carolina State to show their support and appreciation for MEAC Men’s Coach of the Year Coach Hardeep and the men’s and women’s championship tennis team.

 

“This has truly been a blessing and a great ride this season,” stated Judge. “None of this could have been possible with a great supporting cast from the team, grounds keepers, athletic staff and administration. They made it possible for us to be here today.”

 

The Bulldogs who clinched their fifth NCAA appearance since 2004 and eighth MEAC title overall, while the Lady Bulldogs are making their fifth consecutive appearance and automatic berth by defeating FAMU.

 

Both men’s & women’s teams will battle the University in the first-round of the NCAA Championships. The men will begin play Friday May 8, beginning at 4 p.m., with women’s play set for Saturday May 9, in a 1 p.m. showdown. of Georgia

 

Tickets for the NCAA Tournament matches are available for purchase in advance online via www.georgiadogs.com or by calling 1-877-542-1231. Tickets will also go on sale two hours before the first match each day at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. General admission tickets are $5 for Adults and $3 for Students (college-aged and younger).
