Cacho Overall Leader ; Lady Bulldogs Finish The Day Second

ORANGEBURG,SC—The South Carolina State men’s and women’s golf teams placed second in the opening round of the annual , 36-hole Bulldog Classic held at Hillcrest Golf Course Saturday.

South Carolina State men carded a team total 300 to follow second behind leader Houston Baptist University who led the way with a team best 295. North Carolina Central followed in third with a 18-hole total of 308.

Overall leader on the day Freshman Roberto Cacho of Morelos, Mexico shot a even-par 72 to lead the Bulldogs, a three-way tie for second with a 1-under 73 from Jordan Jeffries and Ian Armstrong of Houston Baptist and Corey Brown of Savannah State.

The Lady Bulldogs rounded out the day with a team total of 370, behind leader Hampton University who total 342 on the day.

The final 18-holes will begin Sunday at 8 a.m
